The Residency Consult

Terms of Service

Effective date: April 6, 2026

Welcome to The Residency Consult. By accessing or using our website at theresidencyconsult.com ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. Acceptable Use

You agree that you will not:

  • Submit fake, fabricated, or misleading reviews. Reviews must reflect your genuine, firsthand experience with a residency or fellowship program.
  • Create multiple accounts to submit duplicate reviews for the same program or to circumvent moderation decisions.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data from the Service, except as explicitly permitted by our robots.txt file.
  • Impersonate another person, misrepresent your affiliation with a training program, or falsely claim credentials (e.g., indicating you are a current resident when you are not).
  • Post content that is defamatory, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, or that contains personally identifiable information about other individuals (such as naming specific residents, fellows, or staff members).
  • Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Service or its underlying infrastructure.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms at our sole discretion.

2. User-Generated Content

The Service allows authenticated users to submit reviews of residency and fellowship programs. By submitting a review, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Moderation. All reviews are subject to moderation before they are published. We use a combination of automated tools and human review to evaluate submissions. We may approve, reject, or remove any review at our discretion.
  • Content removal. We reserve the right to remove any user-generated content at any time for any reason, including but not limited to violations of these Terms, legal requests, or quality concerns.
  • License. By submitting content, you grant The Residency Consult a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with the Service.
  • Anonymity. Reviews are displayed anonymously. We do not publicly associate your email address or account information with your reviews. However, we retain this association internally for moderation, abuse prevention, and legal compliance purposes.
  • Ownership. You retain ownership of the content you submit. You represent that you have the right to submit such content and that it does not infringe on any third-party rights.

3. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

Program information displayed on The Residency Consult is sourced from publicly available databases including ACGME accreditation data, the AMA's FREIDA database, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, HUD Fair Market Rent data, the Walk Score API, the CMS Provider of Services file, and user submissions.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information on the Service. Program details such as salary figures, application deadlines, interview formats, accreditation status, and cost-of-living data may be outdated or incorrect. Always verify critical information directly with the program or its sponsoring institution before making decisions.

The Residency Consult is an informational resource and does not provide medical, legal, or career advice. The inclusion of a program on this site does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation.

4. Account Terms

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You must verify your email before submitting reviews.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You may have only one account. If we determine that you are operating multiple accounts, we may merge or terminate them.
  • You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, your reviews will be disassociated from your account but may remain on the Service in anonymized form.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your account poses a risk to the Service or its users.

5. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Residency Consult and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

In no event shall our total liability exceed one hundred US dollars ($100). This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based.

6. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
